 In America, we always say that Christmas starts right after Thanksgiving has ended (check out our Thanksgiving Apple pie~ here!).  We honestly believe that the best part of the holiday is in the preparation~ when we set up the christmas decorations around our house, start listening to Christmas music, and begin buying and wrapping presents for all of our loved ones.  This time spent preparing with our family and friends is the BEST time and gives us the most warm feeling! AND of course we can’t forget that we also watch Christmas movies during this time!

So, we put our minds together and wrote out a list of our Top 25 Christmas movies! That’s right! 25 movies! 1 christmas movie from tomorrow, December 1st until Christmas Day on December 25th! So you have no excuse to not have any choices~ we got you covered!!

#1. 小鬼当家1 和 小鬼当家2 (迷失纽约)

Home Alone 1 and Home Alone 2 (1990-1992)

这部电影是我们的最爱！特别是小鬼当家2！在这个系列电影中，一个男孩意外被独立留在了家中，一开始，他欣喜万分，但是后来遇到了一系列的人，给他讲述了他们的故事，并对他产生了教育意义。这是一部发自内心能给你带来许多欢笑和特殊场景的电影。一定不要错过哦，我们把它列在推荐的第一位呢！

This movie is our absolute favorite! Especially Home Alone 2! In this series a boy is accidentally left home alone by his family, which he at first is happy about but later meets many people along the way who teaches him different lessons and shares their stories.  It is a heartfelt movie with lots of laughs and iconic scenes. You cannot miss this movie, we definitely recommend this as the first move for you to watch!

The Santa Clause Series (1994-2006)

这是Nadia最喜欢的电影之一！故事开始在圣诞节前夕，Scott Calvin (Tim Allen饰)和他的儿子在屋顶上发现了圣诞老人，意外让他从屋顶跌落下来。他不得不替代圣诞老人！这个系列的电影有3部，每一部都要看哦！

This movie series is one of Nadia’s favorites! It starts off with Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) and his son on Christmas Eve where they find Santa Claus on their roof and accidentally cause him to fall off their roof. He then finds himself magically recruited to take Santa’s place! The series has 3 movies, so make sure to follow them all!!

#3. 恋爱假期 The Holiday  (2006)

这部电影里有我们最喜欢的女演员Cameron Diaz。讲述了两个遭遇情感问题的女子互相交换不在同一国度的对方的房子度假，并与当地的男孩陷入爱河的故事。

This movie has one of our favorite actresses~ Cameron Diaz. It follows two women troubled with guy-problems who swap homes in each other's countries, where they each meet a local guy and fall in love.

#4. 34街奇迹  Miracle on 34th street (1994)

这部电影捕捉到了圣诞节的灵魂。最初是在1947年拍摄的黑白电影，后经过几次翻拍，我们认为1994年的那版是最好的！

This movie captures the heart of Christmas. It originally aired in black and white back in 1947 then was remade a few times, but we think the 1994 version is the best one! 

#5. 二见钟情  While You Were Sleeping (1995)

来自芝加哥的无可救药的浪漫主义蓝领(Sandra bullock饰)在圣诞节被误当做英俊的昏迷病人的未婚妻。电影的宣传语是：“一个二见钟情的故事”，所以，我确信这是一个非常有趣的圣诞节爱情故事！

A hopeless romantic blue-collar worker from Chicago (Sandra bullock) is mistaken for the fiancée of a handsome coma patient during the Christmas season. The movie slogan is “A story about love at second sight,” so I can say it certainly is an interesting Christmas love story!

#6. 闪亮的圣诞节 Deck the Halls (2006)

两个邻居(分别由Danny Devito和Matthew Broderick饰演)，当其中一个决定把圣诞节的家装扮得闪亮地外太空都能看见的时候，好戏上演了！

We follow two neighbors (Danny Devito and Matthew Broderick) as they have it out for each other after one of them decides to decorate his house for Christmas so brightly that it can be seen from space!

#7. 圣诞精灵 Elf (2003)

这部电影非常适合喜剧爱好者！影片讲述了淘气包（Will Ferrell饰)阴差阳错被带到了北极，并适应了精灵族群的生活后，后又回到纽约寻根的故事。

For you comedy lovers out there, this ones for you! After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf (Will Ferrell) at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.

#8. 北极的圣诞老人兄弟 Fred Claus (2007)

这部电影由伟大的喜剧演员Vince Vaughn领衔主演，在剧中他饰演Fred Clause，被他的哥哥强迫搬去北极跟他的圣诞老人哥哥在一起！

This one is a great comedy starring Vince Vaughn as Fred Clause, Sant’s bitter older brother who is forced to move to the North Pole to be with his saintly brother~ Santa Claus! 

#9. 缘分天注定 Serendipity (2001)

缘分天注定是“一个幸福的意外”。在这部电影中，一对年轻人在他们第一次相遇后一见钟情，分离开后并坚信最终能在一起，最后重新团聚。这部电影让我也想走出去、偶遇某人，陷入爱河，再在多年后再续前缘！但我觉得这个可能很有难度！

Serendipity is defined as “a fortunate accident.” In this movie A couple reunite years after the night they first met, fell in love, and separated, convinced that one day they'd end up together. This movie makes me want to go out and meet someone, fall in love, and then reunite years later to continue our relationship! But I think this may be a bit hard to do…!haha

 #10. 一路闯关过圣诞 I’ll be Home for Christmas (1998)

在90年代的美国，每个少女都爱上了Jonathan Taylor Thomas!现在回头看他，我不明白为什么那么多女孩喜欢他，也许是因为他标准的美国长相，又或是因为他的喜剧人格魅力吧！不论是什么原因，反正我们都爱过他！在这部电影中，他扮演了一个大学生，在被朋友捉弄经历了一系列的困难后回家过圣诞节。通过这一路的坎坷，他从中领悟到了节日的意义，并对自己有了更清楚的认识。

In 1990s America, EVERY teenage girl was in love with Jonathan Taylor Thomas! Looking back at him now, i’m not sure why so many girl loved him~ maybe because of his All-American good looks or his comedic personality? Whatever it is, we loved him! ha! And so in this movie he is a college student who experiences difficulty in getting home for Christmas after an unfortunate amount of events by his friends. While struggling to get home in time for Christmas, he learns quite a bit about himself and the true meaning of the holiday.

#11. 真爱至上 Love Actually (2003)

这部英国电影讲述了八对迥然不同的人在英国伦敦，圣诞节前夕发生的浪漫、甜蜜和幽默的故事。

This British movie follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England. 

#12. 一路响叮当 Jingle all the Way (1996)

一位父亲(Arnold Schwarzenegger饰)发誓要在圣诞节送一个“涡轮超人”（当时最流行的一个玩具）的动作玩偶给他的儿子，然而，所有商店的售罄了，他必须到另一个镇上，还要跟其他人竞争后才能找到！

A father (Arnold Schwarzenegger) vows to get his son a “Turbo Man” action figure for Christmas (the most popular toy at the time), however, every store is sold out of them, and he must travel all over town and compete with everybody else in order to find one! 

#13. 圣诞颂歌 A Christmas Carol (1999)

这是一个非常有代表性的圣诞节故事，守财奴Scrooge被三个精灵造访，过去之灵、现在之灵和将来之灵。每一个对他有教育意义。

The most iconic Christmas story of them all, A Christmas Carol follows a miser named Scrooge who is haunted by ghosts from Christmases Past, Present and Future. Each has a lesson Scrooge must learn. 

#14. 假期饭店 Holiday Inn (1942)

在一个只在节假日开放的客栈，两个性格迥异的男子对一位漂亮的表演者竞相示爱。这部电影有点老了，但是每个人都看过，所以你也一定要看哦!

At an inn which is only open during the holidays, two very different type of men vie for the affections of a beautiful up-and-coming performer. This movie is an oldie but everyone has seen it, so make sure to see it now!

#15. 颠倒乾坤 Trading places (1983)

一个势利的投资者和狡猾的街头骗子（艾迪·墨菲）发现自己的身份被两个冷酷无情的百万富翁当作赌注给调换了，而所有的故事都发生在圣诞节期间！

A snobbish investor and a wily street con artist (Eddie Murphy) find their positions reversed as part of a bet by two callous millionaires, while all taking place during the Christmas season!

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

我们知道这是一部卡通片，但是它是圣诞节标志性的电影，所以，当然会出现在我们的列表中啦！故事被设置在另一个宇宙空间，一个名为“Whoville”的村子。在这个村子里，有一个脾气暴躁的隐士（Grinch），计划从“Whoville”偷走圣诞节。跟小朋友们一起看感觉超棒的!

We understand this movie is a cartoon but it is just such an iconic Christmas movie that we had to put it on our list! It is set in an alternate universe of “Whoville.”  In this village we meet A grumpy hermit (the Grinch) who hatches a plan to steal Christmas from the people of Whoville. It’s great to watch with the kids!

#17. 圣诞坏公公  Bad Santa (2003)

这可不是儿童电影啦!一个卑鄙的骗子跟他的侏儒搭档一起装扮成圣诞老人在圣诞节前夕去抢劫百货商店。但是当骗子被一个淘气包死缠的时候，他们就出问题了，阴谋也被老板发现了。

This one is definitely not for the kids! A miserable conman and his partner pose as Santa and his Little Helper to rob department stores on Christmas Eve. But they run into problems when the conman befriends a troubled kid, and the security boss discovers the plot.

#18. 虎胆龙威1 Die Hard (1988)

这不是一部典型的圣诞节电影，但是我们怎么能把Bruce Willis拒之门外呢？John McClane (Bruce Willis饰)，是纽约警察局的一名警官，在洛杉矶的Nakatomi广场举办的圣诞节派对上解救他的妻子和其他几个被德国恐怖分子劫持的人质。

This is not your typical Christmas movie but how could we leave out Bruce Willis from our movie list?!  We meet John McClane (Bruce Willis), officer of the NYPD, who tries to save his wife and several others that were taken hostage by German terrorist during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.

 #19. 雪人情缘 Jack Frost (1998)

一个未能完成自己承诺的父亲在一场车祸中丧生。一年后，他作为一个雪人重返人间，在他彻底消失前有最后一次机会可以弥补以前对儿子的疏忽。

A father, who can't keep his promises, dies in a car accident. One year later, he returns as a snowman, who has the final chance to put things right with his son before he is gone forever. 

 #20. 逃离圣诞 Christmas with the Kranks (2004)

由于女儿不在身边，Kranks夫妇决定一同出游度假，逃离圣诞节，不料在最后一刻峰回路转。

With their daughter away, the Kranks decide to skip Christmas altogether until she decides to come home, causing an uproar when they have to celebrate the holiday at the last minute. 

#21. 朋友一场 Just Friends (2005)

一个男子在圣诞节重返家乡，他曾经被一个女孩子拒绝了，那次拒绝让他脱胎换骨成为一个深受女人欢迎的男人，这次他又跟她面对面了。。。

While visiting his hometown during Christmas, a man comes face-to-face with his old high school crush whom he was best friends with -- a woman whose rejection of him turned him into a ferocious womanizer. 

#22. 生活多美好  It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

这部经典的电影讲述的是一个天使帮助了一个富有同情心但是受挫后万念俱灰的一个商人，向他展示了，如果他不曾存在，生活会是怎么样的。

This classic movie is about An angel who helps a compassionate but despairingly frustrated businessman by showing what life would have been like if he never existed!

 

 #23. 土拨鼠日 Groundhog Day (1993)

一个气象播报员被派去采访关于土拨鼠日（土拨鼠会告诉我们春天是否来临或者冬天是否继续）的故事。这是他报道这个故事的第四年了，他毫无掩饰自己的挫败感。第二天醒来的时候，他发现每天都是土拨鼠日，每天都在同样的重复。刚开始，他利用了这个优势，但是他慢慢意识到在接下来的时间里，他会无止境地出现在同样的地方，见到同样的人，做同样的事情。严格来说，也许它算不上是一部圣诞节电影，但是非常适合在冬日寒冷的假期观看，它向我们传达了一个讯息，提醒我们珍惜当下每一刻！

A weather man is reluctantly sent to cover a story about a weather forecasting Groundhog Day (the day when a groundhog tells us if spring will arrive or winter will stay). This is his fourth year on the story, and he makes no effort to hide his frustration. On awaking the 'following' day he discovers that it's Groundhog Day again, and again, and again. First he uses this to his advantage, then comes the realization that he is doomed to spend the rest of eternity in the same place, seeing the same people do the same thing EVERY day. Not exactly a Christmas movie but it is a great winter holiday movie that has a good message at the end and always reminds us to cherish each moment we have!

#24. 家庭人 The Family Man (2000)

一个快节奏的投资经纪人，被赋予了一个去看他另一半生活的机会。他醒来后发现他的跑车变成了一个迷你车，而他的模特的女朋友也变成了一个家庭主妇。

A fast-lane investment broker, offered the opportunity to see how the other half lives. He wakes up to find that his sports car and model girlfriend have become a mini-van and housewife.

#25. 圣诞夜惊魂 The Nightmare before Christmas (1993)

如你所知，这部电影已经被我们放去万圣节电影清单了，但是因为它与圣诞节有关，所以也出现在了这里!这部电影捕捉到很多假日的精神、些许浪漫再配以一些朗朗上口的歌曲。如果你在万圣节错过了这部电影的话，一定要在圣诞节观看哦！

Yes, we know we put this movie on our list of Halloween movies but we had to repeat on this list because it also is related to Christmas! This film captures the spirit of the holiday with a whole lotta heart, a bit of romance, and a few catchy songs. So if you didn’t get the chance to see it  for Halloween, you better make some time to watch it this Christmas!!
