2. A plain pointed cap (black) for day wear  

3.  One pair of protective gloves (dragon skin or similar material)  

4. A winter cloak (black, silver clasp)

Students may bring an owl or a cat or a toad.  

Parents should be particularly reminded that first years are not allowed to bring their own brooms.
